The Feed Nigeria Summit (FNS) draws inspiration from the Feed Africa agenda – one of the five principal policy thrusts of the African Development Bank, as championed by its current helmsman and former Nigerian Agriculture Minister, Dr Akinwumi Adesina.
AgroNigeria, in conjunction with its sponsoring partners, strongly believes that Nigeria should be at the forefront of this laudable policy initiative, especially at this period of immense economic pressure stemming from dangerous global fluctuations in the price of oil.
The summit seeks to address key national agricultural productivity issues like finance, market access, research, infrastructure, mechanization, ICT, youth and gender as well as appropriate policies and legislations.
Accordingly, the Feed Nigeria Summit will be the melting pot of policy and strategic discussions between government, private sector and development community for the progress of Nigerian agriculture, and undoubtedly serve as a rare and highly prized opportunity for effective pitching, business messaging and product launching for interested and willing agricultural entities in Nigeria and beyond.

Nigerian Agriculture Awards (NAA)
The Nigeria Agriculture Awards has successfully placed Nigerian agriculture on the front burner of national consciousness, and has positively glamorized agriculture and its people, away from the illiteracy, poverty and low esteem that used to be associated with it in the past.
The NAA an initiative of AgroNigeria – Nigeria’s agricultural mouthpiece, sets out to celebrate and appreciate the men, women, youth and corporate entities who have performed admirably in the Nigerian agricultural value chain.
The NAA was birthed on the 19th of November, 2014 as a veritable platform to celebrate agricultural achievements by recognizing the outstanding contributions of identified stakeholders.
This prestigious event has since been acknowledged as the ultimate medium for celebrating excellence in the agro-allied sphere.
The 2015 Nigeria Agriculture Awards was a masterpiece, a well-attended event which succeeded in bringing the message of agriculture to the mainstream of society, especially the youth, and giving agriculture stakeholders a well-deserved but oft-denied national and global prominence.
Prominent awardees at the 2015 NAA include State Governors, Alhaji Sanni Dangote; Chairman, Dansa AgroAllied Limited, Dr Akinwumi Adesina; President of the African Development Bank Group; Arc. Sony Echono, then Permanent Secretary FMARD and corporate agricultural giants such as the Stallion Group, OLAM, Triton Group and Union Bank Plc.
Against this backdrop, this year’s NAA promises a thrilling experience. With over 20 award categories, the NAA will boast of such awards like: The Pillar of Agriculture; reserved for persons who have dedicated their lives to agricultural development in Nigeria, Farmers’ governor of the year, Farmer of the year, Agro-brand of the year, Student farmer of the year, etc.
This year, the NAA will hold alongside the Feed Nigeria Summit (FNS), further reinforcing and maximizing the media buzz and heavy publicity that comes with each of the events. We are also introducing, in collaboration with our sponsors, a cash-prize-backed Agro Essay and Project Proposal writing competition for secondary and tertiary institution students this year, all aimed at proving to the budding youth that agriculture is the future; the new oil of Nigeria.
The FNS/NAA event will also feature a business dinner, an important but rare opportunity for private sector juggernauts to network, explore future collaborative business opportunities and generally boost business confidence in their brands. Also, with the full collaboration of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture (FMARD), the event’s will be a good public/private partnership cementing forum.
